Island Framing was established in 1999, specializing in Koa wood, unique to the Hawaiian Islands. In the last decade Island Framing has been expanding from framing wholesale for regional artists to commercial accounts for artists and galleries all over the world. Our extended art care includes on-site consultation, excellent design, protection, restoration, and shipping of fine artwork.

Why We Love Koa Wood
The Acacia Koa is a flowing tree found only in the Hawaiin Islands. It's name in the Hawaiin Islands, "Koa," also means brave, bold, fearless or warrior.
Highly figured koa is sought after for use in fine furniture, musical instruments, crafts, gunstocks & knife handles. The color can go from reds to chocolate browns, all the way to a bleach white color in the sap wood. The koa grains also range from plain, to tiger-stripe, to curly to deep fiddleback (a tight curly grain.)
At Island Framing we only use the most intriguing pieces of koa molding. We stain our pieces on the premisis with natural oils. Our frames our built to perfection for you to enjoy... forever.
